I am a pre-accredited member of IAHIP
Whether working therapeutically with individuals or facilitating personal and professional development in groups, Sinéad's approach is characterised by empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to supporting people in developing a greater understanding of themselves and their relationships.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is person-centred at its core, which means I believe deeply in each person’s capacity for growth and healing — and in the importance of a safe, non-judgmental relationship as the foundation for that process.
Alongside talk-based therapy, I am drawn to creative and somatic modalities. These approaches grow from an understanding that our most difficult experiences are not always easy — or even possible — to put into words. Trauma is often held in the body and in the unconscious, beyond the reach of language alone. Creative and somatic approaches offer a way to gently access, gain perspective on, and begin to process feelings and experiences that can feel overwhelming or as though there is no way out of them.
More recently, I have undertaken initial training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and have found “parts work” to be a deeply enriching way of understanding ourselves — meeting all of who we are with curiosity and compassion.
My therapeutic approach is one of exploration and discovery, guided by each client, their needs and preferences. Scroll down to learn more about some of my areas of experience and expertise.
